An experienced chief executive and financial economist, Ken is a veteran of the information technology industry. Ken has successfully started three companies and played instrumental roles in two turnarounds and two IPO’s. In 1988, Ken founded an IT services company, Wave Technologies, and within six years, he guided his vision from home through an IPO to a successful public company. An active investor in start-ups, Ken is a founding member and Executive Director of the BlueWater Angels Investment Network. In addition, Ken serves on the Public Policy Committee of the Angel Capital Association.

Born, raised and educated in Bay City, MI receiving a Bachelors Degree in Business from Saginaw Valley State College in 1975 with post graduate studies at Central Michigan University and Saginaw Valley State University. Earned the CPA certificate in 1976, Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation in 1998 and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) designation in 2008. Employed in service, non-profit and retail industries from 1966 through 1973 and joined the firm of Robert F. Murray & Company in 1973, currently serving as the firms Managing Shareholder.
Jim has a B.S. Chemical Engineering and an M.B.A and spent his first career of twenty-nine years at Dow Corning Corporation where he held a wide range of positions including both executive business and technical management roles.
Later, Jim complemented his large company experience with experience in leadership roles at four separate small businesses (GTP Associates – a business consulting start-up; SenX Technolgy, LLC – a start-up sensor technology development and commercialization firm; TSE Systems, Inc. – a German-based manufacturer of sophisticated custom-designed life sciences laboratory equipment; and, most recently, Midland Engineering Ltd. where he currently is employed part-time.)
