How Trends in RNA in Healthcare Innovations Will Affect the Future

Dr. Jesse Bakke
Leading researcher in CRISPER Cas9 screening technologies at Central Michigan University

Dr. Bakke will be giving a high level overview of CRISPR and siRNA technology.  He will talk about the past technological uses for both CRISPR and siRNA as well as potential future uses  that may end up in the clinic.  This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with onoe of the most recent jumps in the technology that will eventually treat many genetic diseases.

Dr.Kevin Hagedorn
President, Life Magnetics

RNA is a fragile and difficult molecule to work with but RNA tech is expected to be one of the largest growth sectors in biopharma for the next decade. Dr. Hagedorn’s company, funded mainly by the National Science Foundation, has developed the best solution to date for RNA storage and transport. Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering News called 2018 the “year of RNA.” He will discuss emerging challenges and opportunities in RNA diagnostics and therapeutics.
