Kenneth Kousky, President & Chairman
Ken Kousky is current Executive Director, President, and Chairman of BlueWater Angels. Previously, Ken was the President and CEO of IP3 and CEO of MidMichigan Innovation Center, now known as Midland Tomorrow Innovation Center.
An experienced chief executive and financial economist, Ken is a veteran of the information technology industry. He has successfully started three companies and played instrumental roles in two turnarounds and two IPO’s. In 1988, Ken founded an IT services company, Wave Technologies, which he took public through an IPO and later sold to Thomson. Prior to founding Wave Technologies, Ken taught at Washington University in the School of Engineering where he established the University’s graduate program in Telecommunications Management and directed the University’s Center for Communications and Networking Management. Both programs were the first of their kind in the U.S.
From 2007-2010, Ken taught in the College of Business & Management at Saginaw Valley State University where he served as Dow Entrepreneur-in-Residence. He has also served as a teaching fellow at the University of Pennsylvania’s nationally renowned Wharton School of Business. Ken was later an adjunct faculty for Central Michigan University’s Global Campus and was a part of the team that developed the Undergraduate and Graduate Certificate Programs in Cyber-Security.
As an inventor, Ken holds a patent titled “Method for Securing Streaming Multimedia Network Transmissions”, patent number US 8,453,241 B2, issued May 28, 2013.
Ken received his Master’s degree in Economics from the Univer sity of Pennsylvania and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Urban Studies from Washington University.
